If you think that you’ll never be a hit by natural disasters, then you’re wrong. People in New Orleans has thought that before too. The reality is there’s no home that actually safe from natural disasters no matter how expensive you house is.
The good news is proper precautions can go a long way in avoiding a loss of life or property. Here’s what you gonna do.
1. Prepare emergency provisions. Look for a convenient location to store for food that is ready to eat like whole grain crackers, peanut butter, powdered milk, cereals, canned foods and gallons of water. Also store first aid kit, flash light with batteries, ropes, basic tools and cash. You’ll never know if ATM banks are working.
2. Educate yourself in Disasters Training, provided by your government like Redd Cross, etc., Know few information about first aids, know how to shutoff electricity, gas lines, water pipes in your house. Practice tornado, earthquake drills together with your families or even fire drill. Always have a tornado bunker if you are located in tornado alleys.
3. Help organize neighborhood disasters team whose members can come each others aid in an event of emergency.
4. Prepare your important documents like life insureance policy, home insurance policy copy, safety deposit keys, attorneys name and phone nos.
